Abstract: Thanks to the surging popularity of social networking media, investigators can now tap into a wealth of potential evidence that was nearly impossible to find only a few years ago. This article discusses the fact that many people are posting incriminating material online, and summarizes the regulatory limitations that apply when it comes to obtaining evidence from social media.
