Abstract: As outcome-based reimbursement becomes more prevalent, patient satisfaction will have a greater effect on a hospital’s finances. However, a recent study points to potential patient dissatisfaction based on doctors’ lack of etiquette practices. It reveals that, while interns thought they were performing adequately on five measures of etiquette when dealing with patients, recorded observations indicated otherwise.
